Rwanda in pictures
In 2016 I was lucky enough to see my cousin Jan (John) de Graaf marry Yvette, the woman he’d loved for years. It wasn’t any old wedding either — they were married in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, in a traditional ceremony that lasted four days. It was one of the most extraordinary travel experiences I’ve had but I have to save the story of the wedding for another time. The pictures in this gallery were taken during a few free days either side of the wedding while I explored this tiny, landlocked African country and marvelled at how far it has come since the 1994 genocide.
